4 categories of participants according to their level and objectives: Ultra Trailers, Trailers, Sportifs and Marcheurs. Ultra Trailers and Trailers are seasoned athletes, accustomed to long distances and demanding terrain, while Sportifs, less specialized, are looking for an accessible challenge. Walkers, on the other hand, prefer a more leisurely approach, exploring routes at a moderate pace.

Each category requires specific physical preparation and equipment to cope with the race conditions.

Walkers & Trekkers

Profile: This category is perfect for those who wish to experience adventure in a more contemplative way, while remaining active. Walkers are participants who prefer to explore the countryside at a more moderate pace.

Distance: The 84 km can be completed at a walking pace (32 km on day one, 20 km on day two, 32 km on day three).

Experience:

Regular hikers, used to good walking distances.

Training :

Regular walking, sometimes supplemented by fitness activities.

Equipment:

Comfortable hiking boots, walking poles for added stability, backpack with water and snacks, headlamp for night walks.

Strategy:

Regular progress and management of effort over a long period, ability to navigate on varied terrain, good management of hydration and nutrition.

Profile: Sportifs are all-round athletes or regular runners looking for a unique experience without necessarily being trail specialists. This category is open to those in good general physical condition.

Distance: 84 km (32 km on first day, 20 km on second day, 32 km on third day).

Experience:

Participation in 10-20 km races or half-marathons.

Training :

Regular training with a variety of activities including running, cardio and strength training.

Equipment:

Multi-purpose trail shoes, lightweight hydration pack, desert-appropriate clothing, basic headlamp.

Strategy:

Ability to manage a moderate effort over several days, adapt to varied climatic conditions and terrain.
